Olympica Gymnastics Academy’s competitive teams traveled to San Diego this past weekend to compete at the California Classic hosted by Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy. The Level 6 gymnasts won the first place team award, with Kylie Phillips of Laguna Niguel taking the gold in the All Around with a 37.150 in the Junior B division. Kylie also took the gold on floor with a 9.550, the silver on beam (9.600) and vault (8.900), and the bronze on bars with a 9.100.
Teammate Audrey Jackson, also of Laguna Niguel, took the gold on beam with an impressive 9.700, the silver on floor with a 9.425, and silver in the All Around with a 36.875. In the Junior C division, Addison Malue (Mission Viejo) tied for second on vault with an 8.750, placed third on beam with a 9.350, and third All Around with a 36.050. Aliso Viejo’s Bela Block tied for second on bars with a 9.125 in the same division.
Kaitlyn Driessen of Rancho Mission Viejo took home the silver on vault with a 9.300 and the silver on bars with a 9.525 in the Level 8 Junior B division. She also tied for the bronze with a 9.375 on floor. Teammate, Holly Carter (Aliso Viejo), took second on floor with a 9.350 and tied for third All Around with a 36.475 in the Level 8 Junior A division. In the same division, Samantha Hayes (Ladera Ranch) was the bars champion with a 9.300 and also took home the bronze on beam (9.175) and floor (9.325). In the Level 8 Senior B division, Dylan Tanner (San Clemente) took second on floor with a 9.425.
Level 7’s Misha Parsons of Dana Point tied for second on beam with a 9.300, and Level 9 gymnast, Allison Karner (Laguna Niguel), took home the gold on bars with a 9.650 and bronze All Around with a 35.825. Olympica Gymnastics Academy is hosting the Pacific Classic this upcoming weekend, March 1-3, at Soka University in Aliso Viejo. Over 750 gymnasts will be competing. Come watch these girls in action!
