OC Fire Watch Presents 2019 Symposium May 11

Date:

The Orange County Fire Watch program is proud to present the 2019 Fire Watch Symposium on Saturday, May 11, in honor of California Wildfire Awareness Week. Public participants interested or concerned about Wildfire Awareness in Orange County are invited to register for a morning of presentations and demonstrations from the ALERTWildfire Camera Network, fire prevention specialists, wildland resource planners, park rangers, fire agency representatives including OCFA, and a presentation from Southern California Edison on their Wildfire Mitigation Plan. The symposium will educate the community about the upcoming wildfire season, how to prevent wildfires, and feature information on the OC Fire Watch program and the Fire Watch Network.

Honor California Wildfire Awareness Week with Orange County Fire Authority, OC Parks, Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and Fire Watch to learn about wildfire preparedness

The Orange County Fire Watch program is designed to reduce wildland fire ignition sources through a highly-trained volunteer group. Managed by Irvine Ranch Conservancy, volunteers and staff monitor the perimeters of high-risk areas to assist with early detection of ignitions and deter detrimental behavior that may result in wildfire.
