You can help!
Please click on the link below to sign a petition asking city leaders and AVCA (Aliso Viejo Community Association) to switch to organic landscaping methods and stop using toxic pesticides and herbicides in Aliso Viejo.
We are asking AVCA, Aliso Viejo Community Association, and the City of Aliso Viejo leaders to make our health, as well as the health of our children and pets, their priority over weed control. It should be a basic human right for our children to be protected in the parks and playgrounds where they play.
The American Academy of Pediatrics states that there is “no safe level of pesticide exposure for children.” – Non Toxic Neighborhood’s advisor Dr. Bruce Lanphear
Cities and school districts across California including Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Tustin, Costa Mesa, Burbank, and Carlsbad have all had their elected officials take the action needed to protect their residents from exposure to these harmful pesticides by bringing forward and voting on an organics first landscaping policy. We would like to see AVCA and the City of Aliso Viejo join in this critical and responsible endeavor.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION to demonstrate to our city leaders that you want them to stop using harmful pesticides at our parks, playgrounds, athletic fields and public spaces and switch to proven, safe, and cost-effective landscaping practices.
We are asking AVCA and the City of Aliso Viejo to adopt an Integrative Pest Management (IPM) similar to Irvine California’s IPM which places organic methods as a priority and discontinues the use of herbicides and toxic chemicals in our city. For information on Irvine’s IPM visit Non-Toxic Neighborhoods http://www.nontoxicirvine.org
