The staff of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County recognized its top corporate donors during National Volunteer Week, April 18-25. Companies recognized for their generosity included Bank of America, Boeing, Capital Group Companies, Jack-in-the-Box, PIMCO, Pacific Life and Succession Capital. Donations were used to match adult mentors with children in need.
“Donors are just as important as volunteers in our formula for success,” said CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Keith Rhodes. “Independent studies find that kids in our program are more likely to succeed in and out of school. Donations make it possible for us to provide staff, systems and standards that make those successful results possible.”
Additionally, on April 24, 20 staff members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County served as mentors for the day to children that are waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister, highlighting the agency’s need for more volunteers. The group spent the day at an Angels’ baseball game at a “Big for a Day” event, sponsored by Columbia Steel.
