3rd Annual Autfest Film Festival 2019 by Autism Society of America

Autfest Film Festival promotes awareness, acceptance, and inclusion by showcasing films about autism for the community we seek to serve. We wish to celebrate and support autistic filmmakers and artists that have chosen to shine a light on autism in films aimed to educate and create an emotional connection.

GOALS:

• To increase awareness of autism through the medium of film in order to promote a greater knowledge of the important value of individuals with autism.
• To encourage filmmakers to promote a strong and important role of people with autism in a way that generates respect, value, and dignity.
• To encourage individuals with autism to become filmmakers and/or actors, as well as push film companies to use individuals with autism in all aspects of film development and creation.

Founded in 1965, the Autism Society is the nation’s leading grassroots autism organization and exists to improve the lives of all affected by autism. We do this by increasing public awareness about the day-to-day issues faced by people on the autism spectrum, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, and research. The Autism Society maintains a strong nationwide network of affiliates to provide support and grassroots advocacy at local, state, and federal levels.
