‘SOLUTIONS FOR CHANGE’ LIGHTS SEAWORLD CHRISTMAS TREE: On Thursday evening, Nov. 21, a heartwarming tradition will continue at SeaWorld with the lighting of the park’s Christmas Tree, kicking off the holiday season and SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration event. This year, SeaWorld San Diego is proud to host families from Solutions for Change, a San Diego non-profit organization that seeks to solve family homelessness, one family and one community at a time. In addition to the tree lighting, the families will enjoy dinner and dessert at SeaWorld, a meet-and-greet with Rudolph and friends, and a preview performance of SeaWorld’s all-new Winter Wonderland on Ice show. In addition, SeaWorld will grant the families tickets to come back to the park sometime during the holiday season to enjoy the rest of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration, which opens to the public on Nov. 23 and runs through Jan. 5, 2020.

SEAWORLD’S CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE: SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration returns Nov. 23, 2019 and runs through Jan. 5, 2020, with something for the whole family! All new this year is an ice skating spectacular, Winter Wonderland on Ice, featuring 15 of the nation’s top skaters performing under the stars at SeaWorld’s Nautilus Amphitheater. Cirque Christmas, in partnership with Cirque du Soleil NextGen, is a new, eye-popping “Nutcracker”-themed show featuring acrobats, aerialists and dancers wowing audience members with a fresh new take on an old holiday favorite. The new Sesame Street Christmas Village will be brimming with cheer, including opportunities to meet Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and more. Park guests making their way between the Ocean Explorer and Explorer’s Reef realms can take a dazzling detour through an all-new, 140-foot walkthrough Tunnel of Lights, with more than 5,000 animated lights. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer returns this holiday season in Rudolph’s Christmastown, where guests can pose with Rudolph and friends and enjoy storytime and the nightly lighting of the 40-foot, animated Happiest Christmas Tree. The best way to enjoy SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is with a SeaWorld Fun Card, which allows guests to enjoy all of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration in 2019, and the exciting lineup of seasonal events in 2020 all for one amazing price.

WALRUS AWARENESS WEEK COMING UP: SeaWorld is proud to participate in Walrus Awareness Week Nov. 30 through Dec. 7, 2019. Along with participating zoological parks across the country, SeaWorld will celebrate the species with special presentations that bring awareness to some of the challenges they face in the wild, including that they are becoming more separated from their food sources located on the continental shelf, due to loss of sea ice. SeaWorld’s walrus experts will educate guests about walruses, including tips on what all of us can do to help. It is more important now than ever to educate the public about walruses and to manage their populations in zoological settings. Walruses are classed as threatened by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). According to the IUCN, the arctic region is warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet. SeaWorld is currently home to one male and four female Pacific walruses. Fun fact: Despite tipping the scale at more than 3,500 pounds, walruses are really fast swimmers.
