Girl Scouts of Orange County announced today it has launched an All Girl Initiative to expand the ways Orange County girls can participate in Girl Scouts, so every girl from every social, cultural, economic and developmental sphere can experience the life-changing benefits Girl Scouts provides.
Currently, Girl Scouts of Orange County serves nearly 20,000 girls and 13,000 adult volunteers and members from every zip code in OC. The council intends to reach an additional 1,500 girls in 2020, who might not have access to Girl Scouts through the traditional volunteer-led troop model, through its All Girl Initiative. In addition to reaching more girls, Girl Scouts of Orange County will provide Girl Scout volunteers across OC with new resources that help them engage girls from different social, emotional and/or physical status in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

We are on a mission to help all girls from every social, emotional and physical sector develop the confidence and skills that Girl Scouts instills to step forward, defy norms, achieve their dreams, and make the world a better place.”
While the traditional volunteer-led troop model remains the primary way that girls across Orange County experience Girl Scouts, the local council now offers girls more ways than ever to participate in Girl Scouts, including Girl Scouts at after school programs, through parks and recreation centers, housing centers, and more. Girl Scouts of Orange County is currently delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to hundreds of new girls enrolled in Santa Ana Unified School District’s Engage 360° program, Anaheim Achieves afterschool program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire, after school programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove, Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, and Jamboree Housing Corporation’s after school programs.
