The Saddleback Mission Viejo Elks Lodge #2444 was honored to host a group of local special needs guests on Saturday, July 17th for an annual Sock Hop. All 80 guests enjoyed lunch, lemonade, snacks, and oversized cookies for dessert. Smiles all around as they were entertained by DJ BDiamond aka Teresa Burnett, herself a special needs individual.
Not an empty spot was found on the dance floor as all guests and volunteers were on the floor moving to “YMCA”, clearly a fan favorite. A full afternoon of fun and dancing was ended with a conga line, and all guests left happy and looking forward to the next special needs Christmas Party in December.
The Elks would like to thank all the dedicated volunteers that make this annual event happen especially Sheryn Howlett, Kevin Lindley, Pam Mackey, Cecelia Sanchez, Andrea Pham, Lisa Hart, Jack, and Sandy Jacobs, Barb Boleta, Hal Mattson, Charley Hart, Irene Romero, Sandie McClure, Tenesha Campanile, and Debby Lamb.
The Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge #2444 is celebrating 51 years of service to Saddleback Valley Communities. It is one of 8 lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois.
The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 152-year history of giving. “Elks Care Elks Share”.
