Students from McDowell School in Laguna Niguel were recognized by Renaissance Learning Incorporated for their outstanding achievement in the Accelerated Reading program this year. Eligible McDowell students read over 40 million words, an average of 301,171 words each for the year.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our students for having such a high commitment to our Accelerated Reading program this year,” said Principal of McDowell Cari Griesbach. “They continue to exceed our expectations.”

McDowell has made a commitment to the importance of reading practice-a vital building block for students’ overall academic achievement. This kind of performance and dedication is what sets McDowell apart from other schools in Southern California. Educators at McDowell play a critical role in ensuring that students have the reading skills they will need in the future, while encouraging reading as an everyday activity.
