Denim Drive Helps South Orange County Students Get Ready For
The New School Year
Nearly 250 items collected for the kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley
On August 5 and 6, Cox Communications partnered with The Shops at Mission Viejo for its Back-to-School denim drive, “Do Good with Denim,” to support sustainability and positively impact the community. The drive supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley by collecting over 232 pieces of new and gently used denim items for students gearing up for back-to-school.
“Cox Communications is committed to improving lives in the communities we serve and participating in the back-to-school denim drive is helping students and the environment, two of the important pillars our company was built on,” said Colleen Dillaway, market vice president for Cox Communications in Orange County.
Visitors were able to donate denim apparel plus enjoy an on-site family-friendly STEAM activity facilitated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley team, explore displays of the latest denim fashions from participating retailers, and take photos with friends in the Cox Communications photo booth.
“The Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley is touched by the generosity of our partners Cox Communications and The Shops at Mission Viejo who organized this successful event to benefit our students as they head back to the classroom. Our kids are so blessed, and we are so grateful for these donations,” said James Littlejohn, executive director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley:

“We were moved by the number of folks who came by The Shops at Mission Viejo to donate and positively impact these boys and girls as they excitedly head back to school.
