School starts Wednesday, September 8!
WELCOME BACK
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. I hope you and your family had an restful and enjoyable summer. The first student day is Wednesday, September 8. All CUSD elementary campuses will release students on a modified schedule. Class lists will be posted on Tuesday, September 7 by 4:00 PM. I look forward to seeing our returning students and welcoming our new arrivals.
Please call the school office if you know of someone that has moved out the CVES attendance area this year. This information will assist us in planning classes and help alleviate class changes after school has started. Additionally, if you have new neighbors with children that will be attending CVES, please send them our way so we can get them registered.
FIRST DAY SCHEDULE
Students will be dismissed on a modified dismissal schedule for the first school day.
Grades 1-5 (including SDC and DHH) 7:45- 11:50
Kindergarten
Early Birds 7:45- 9:15 (orientation with parents and students)
Late Owls 9:30-11:00 (orientation with parents and students)

Save the date for the PTA Ice Cream Social! The Crown Valley PTA will be hosting an ice cream social on Friday, September 10 starting at 2:30! Enjoy good friends and good ice cream. . . you pick the toppings! As much as you want! This event will be held in Crown Valley’s courtyard.
YMCA NEWS
Tues. Sept. 7th @ 4pm- The Crown Valley YMCA Director Ms. Louisa will have an information table located in front of the multipurpose room (auditorium) to answer all of your YMCA questions, pick up a registration packet, and meet your child(ren).
Are you in need of Child Care??? Then please look no further than your
conveniently located (on campus) Crown Valley YMCA Child Care Center with friendly and caring staff, and amazing children. For your convenience we offer a 5-day, 3-day, and 2-day rate, are open Monday – Friday 6:45am-6pm and when school is closed we are OPEN (excluding all national holidays), and have an amazing K-Plus program. Also, we offer financial assistance to those who qualify.
Still not sure if we are the right place for you and your child…. Here are some of the activities we offer for your child(ren): Qualified and caring staff who are 1st aid and CPR certified, a Licensed Child Care Center, TRRFCC Program focusing on all 6 pillars of character, a scheduled homework time in which your child will have a specified amount of time to complete homework and guidance from staff when needed, Friday Club Days (free to all Crown Valley YMCA children) we offer clubs such as Oodles of Stitching (sewing), ESPN Zone (sports), Amazing Art, etc. Also, we work well with Special Needs allowing them the opportunity to build upon their socialization skills, make friends, and work with caring staff who have a heart for Special Needs Children. The YMCA also offers a Y-Inclusion program in which children who are involved with the regional center have an opportunity to have a one-on-one facilitator to make their time at the YMCA more successful.
