I promise not to take up a lot of your time however I’m very excited to announce to all of you that we will have a new athletic team physician this year.
His name is Dr. Hanjan and he comes to us via Community Orthopedic Medical Group in Mission Viejo. He will also be assisted and partnered by Jason W. Knott, P.A.-C, ATC from Community Orthopedic. I have no doubt that these two gentlemen will be providing us with the best game coverage and medical attention we could ask for.

Aliso Niguel High School is pleased to announce that Tiva Hanjan, M.D. has joined on as team physician and will be available for coverage at home football games.
He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty training in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Hanjan is a graduate of the Stanford Medical Center Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation program and completed two additional years of fellowship training in Orthopedic, Sports, Interventional Spine, and Pain Medicine. He completed his first fellowship in Orthopedic, Sports and Spine Medicine at Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation in Honolulu, Hawaii. He followed that up with a fellowship at the ACGME-accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan.
As a resident at Stanford University, he spent extensive time at the outpatient Sports Medicine Clinic and Interventional Spine Clinic, treating patients with orthopedic injuries. He also volunteered at the U.S. Open Track & Field Championships, NCAA regional track and field semifinals, and Stanford track and cross country physical examinations and events where he had the unique opportunity to analyze function and assess injury in high-level athletes.
His practice interests include sports medicine, general orthopedics, and interventional spine medicine. He has a great appreciation for the contributions of biomechanics and dynamic stabilization in the recovery from painful musculoskeletal ailments and injuries. His primary goal is to maximize the function of all patients with comprehensive non-operative treatment approach that entails education, rehabilitation, interventional therapies, and medications. For appropriate cases, surgical referral will be considered.
