DON JUAN AVILA MIDDLE SCHOOL
Principal: Chris Carter
Safety Reminder: Please be sure to review the DJAMS Traffic Plan on Edline at www.edline.net. It is extremely important that parents driving to campus are on high alert and cognizant of the many children walking and riding their bicycles to school. Please follow all traffic laws within the school zone. Also encourage your child to use the crosswalk and not walk through the parking lot. Make prior arrangements with your student as to where you will be picking him/her up. Also, remind your child to walk to and from school in groups, never talk to strangers, and report anything unusual to the school office. Our main goal is keeping our students safe. We appreciate your assistance.
DJAMS PTSA NEWS
It’s not too late to join DJAMS PTSA! Our PTSA Membership Drive is in full swing. We have broken a new record with over 878 PTSA members including parents, students, teachers and staff members. Our goal is to reach at least 75% membership which would be 900 members. If you or your student have not had a chance to join our wonderful PTSA, we would like to encourage you to do so. DJAMS PTSA helps to fund Edline, Computer Lab Replacement, the Emergency Telephone Notification System, Library Books, and much more. Membership dues are $10/member. Membership forms can be found in the office. Please join today!
Please join us for our first PTSA meeting of the year on Thursday, September 16, 2:30 pm, in the DJAMS Library. We’ll be sharing our plans and budget for the year and introducing you to our great organization! All PTSA members and visitors are welcome. Haven’t had a chance to join? We’ll have forms at the meeting!
Thank you Orientation and Back To School Luncheon volunteers! We experienced an overwhelming response to our call for volunteers at our Registration Packet Pick-up, Orientation and Rockin’ Back to School Luncheon. It truly couldn’t have happened without you! Thank you Tori Greger, our PTSA Orientation Chairperson and Karen Fields, our Back to School Luncheon Chairperson, for organizing more fun and successful events.
