Los Angeles – Orange County, CA – The Trojan Club of Orange County (TCOC) will host its next dinner and speaker event on Thursday, September 23, 2010, featuring USC football former greats Brad Budde, Chris Claiborne and Shane Foley at the Doubletree Hotel in Santa Ana (MacArthur and the 55 Freeway) at 6:15 p.m.
Brad Budde became USC’s first recipient of the coveted Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s top college offensive lineman in 1979 and was a unanimous All-American as a senior. A four-year starter at Troy, he was the first freshman to start a USC season opener since World War II. Brad followed his father, All-Pro Ed Budde, to the Kansas City Chiefs as their first-round pick in the 1980 NFL Draft and played for the Chiefs through 1987. Budde was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
Chris Claiborne was USC’s first recipient of the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top college football linebacker, and was the first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 1999. Chris played in the NFL through 2007.
Shane Foley, editor of the Foley Report, played quarterback at USC from 1986 – 1990, with multiple player of the game honors in 1990, and will complete the speaker panel.
