More than 50 volunteers rake AV Ranch for
Founder’s Day Fair Saturday, Sept. 25
Armed with rakes and sporting sunscreen and exemplary volunteer spirit, more than 50 volunteers from the Aliso Viejo-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on September 17 raked the Aliso Viejo Ranch for the city’s Founder’s Day Fair on Saturday.
Along with sprucing up the ranch during the annual clean-up event, the men, women and teens dusted off farm equipment and different implements for display in the original barn, which will be open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 25.
Visitors to Founder’s Day Fair will enjoy a day at the ranch with live entertainment, a water balloon launch and dunk tank; giant slide; climbing wall; games; demonstrations; gold panning; blacksmith; rope making; pony rides; and much more. Delectable food will be available for nominal fees, and adults can enjoy the beer and wine saloon.
The Aliso Viejo Ranch is located at 100 Park Avenue across the street from the Aliso Viejo Middle School.
City officials are grateful for the efforts of the volunteers, who worked hard this past weekend preparing the ranch for Aliso Viejo’s special event. For more information about volunteer opportunities, call 425-2519 or e-mail gduran@cityofalisoviejo.com.
