GARDEN VOLUNTEERS
A special thank you goes out the team of CVES garden volunteers that met Monday morning after the flag salute. This group trimmed, dug, cut, hammered, pulled, mixed and anything else that you can do in a garden. They made tremendous progress and the teachers are excited to start their instruction. RECYCLING PROGRAM
On Wednesday, September 29th, the PTA will once again be starting “Water Bottle Wednesday”. (However, we will be including aluminum cans too). Every Wednesday morning cardboard boxes will be placed in front of the school for the parents and students to place their clean, empty water bottles and aluminum cans in. We are asking that the bottles and cans be separated into trash bags and placed into the boxes with their teacher’s name on it.
2010 – 2011 PTA REFLECTIONS PROGRAM- “Together We Can…”
Encourage your students to Reflect on the Theme… Create an Original Work… and Be Recognized…. for their artist talent. Student entry forms, parent consent forms and all six category guidelines can be printed off the PTA Reflections website at http://www.ptareflections.org/cs/student_entry_form. You must complete the student entry form, the parent consent form and follow the guidelines for all categories. All entries must be original work of the student only. Deadline for CVES entries is Monday, October 15th.
FAMILY DAY/SEPTEMBER 27
Family Day- A day to eat dinner with your children, is a national movement to promote family dinners as an easy way to help keep kids healthy and drug-free. Research consistently shows that the more often kids eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs.
