City’s First Community Liaison To Retire After 19 Years of Service to the City.
At its regular meeting on September 21st, the City Council recognized the City’s first Community Liaison Solveig Darner for her 19 years of service to the City. Solveig served as Community Liaison for the City of Laguna Niguel since 1991 and will retire on October 1st.
A long time resident of Laguna Niguel, Solveig has been very active in the community for many years. She has an extensive volunteer background having served as an elected member of the Laguna Niguel Community Council, member of the South Coast YMCA Board of Managers, member of the Laguna Niguel Woman’s’ Club and member of Laguna Niguel Citizens for Cityhood Committee. In 1990, she received the prestigious Laguna Niguel Citizen of the Year Award in recognition of outstanding volunteer service.
Solveig’s involvement in grass roots community volunteerism and her status as a long-time resident of Laguna Niguel provided her with a unique set of qualifications that served her well in her position as Community Liaison. A dedicated employee whose problem solving and customer service skills were beyond compare, Solveig earned the well-deserved reputation as the best person in City Hall to deal with many difficult situations.
The City of Laguna Niguel extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Solveig Darner for her many years of dedicated service to the residents of our community and wishes her the very best for a long, happy and healthy retirement!
