Dear Malcom Families:
Disaster Preparedness is critical for the safety of our children. Each year at Malcom, the staff and parent volunteers prepare by participating in an emergency (NIMS) drill. This year, our drill is scheduled for the October 21st.
Malcom Elementary has a unique team of parent volunteers who, in the event of an emergency, are trained to aid in securing the many entrances and exits to our campus, and to help expedite the process of connecting children with their families.
In the event of a disaster, road conditions may not be ideal. Not only do we need volunteers who live in close proximity to Malcom, we especially need parents who spend time on campus volunteering in the classroom. The P.A.T. (Parent Assistance Team) works with the Malcom staff to secure the campus and ensure our children our safe and cared for. Training will be provided.
