TITLE VII/INDIAN EDUCATION
CUSD offers an Indian Education program and would like to ensure that all students who meet Title VII eligibility are identified. A form is available for review from the Crown Valley website, under the CROWN VALLEY NEWS tab.. If you believe your family is eligible, please review the form and return it to your child’s school. This document will become part of your child’s school record and will not need to be completed every year. If you have already completed one, you do not need to do it again.

FOOD DRIVE
The CVES Food Drive continues through out this week! Crown Valley Cares, in coordination with South County Outreach, will holding be a Food Drive October 11-15. Any non-perishable food is needed, but especially: canned meat, tuna, fruit & vegetables, peanut butter, cold cereal and macaroni & cheese. Let’s show how much Crown Valley Cares! 500 pounds of food is our goal. . . . we are just over 100 pounds at this point.

CVES DRESS CODE
The weather is warm, but CVES still maintains a dress code for all students. The dress code exists for the safety and humility of the students. All Crown Valley students should wear:
• Closed toed shoes
• T-shirts with straps at least 2 finger width (no spaghetti straps, please)
• Hems of shorts/skirts should fall below finger tips with hands hanging at sides
Further dress code information can be found under the SCHOOL INFO tab on the Crown Valley website or CUSD Board Policy 5142.

HELP DANA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
The following is a message Dr. Rob Nye, Principal of DHHS:
I am writing you today on behalf of the students at DHHS. Last year, one of our clubs (Be the Change) entered us in the Pepsi Refresh Contest. The winner receives $250,000 for their cause. Our cause was to purchase new educational software and hardware to replace outdated equipment. We were accepted as one of the finalist and for the entire month of October anyone can vote. Whoever gets the most votes at the end of the month is the winner. We have improved our ranking over 200 spots and we are currently in 18th place. I am asking for your help. The community can visit our website at www.dhhs.net and click on the “Pepsi Vote Dana Hills” icon on the homepage.
