VETERAN’S DAY HOLIDAY:
Just a reminder that we are back on regular schedule next week. However, there will be no school Thursday, November 11th and Friday, November 12th for the Veteran’s Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!
Don’t forget to set your clocks BACK one hour this weekend for Daylight Savings Time! Enjoy that extra hour of snoozing Sunday morning!
HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE:
Get your holiday shopping done early and support Canyon Vista parents at the same time! The holiday boutique will be open today, Nov. 5 (3-6:30pm) and Saturday, Nov. 6 (10am-4pm) in our multi-purpose room. Grab a sweet from the “Oh For Sweets Sake” mobile cupcake truck on Friday. On Saturday, eat lunch and dessert from the “Taco Dawg” and “Bakery Truck” mobile food trucks. You will be amazed at all the beautiful gifts, some are already wrapped and ready to give. It’s your one stop shop! Donations will benefit PTA programs like music, art masters, field trips, and assemblies.
SEE’S CANDY FUNDRAISER:
We are still selling See’s Candy. This is a great opportunity to stock up on gifts for family, friends, and business associates! Money is due November 10 and the candy will be delivered the week of December 6. We want to extend a special “thank you” to the Faulkner family who arranged for the See’s Candy Race Cars and drivers to come out to our school to support our Science program! Our students had a great time with them!

ORANGE COUNTY FOOD BANK NEEDS OUR HELP!
Get ready for some REAL competition! We are ready to show Canyon Vista is ready to do their BEST! Once again there is a desperate need for food at the homeless shelters in Orange County and Canyon Vista is eager to help! There will be a food bins from November 8 -19 – one for every grade. The grade who fills their bin first wins! A great competition for The Orange County Food bank! A list of items most needed will be posted. THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING!!
Mark your calendars! The ever-popular Book Fair week will be at Canyon Vista the week of December 6th to the 10th. This is a great opportunity to stock up on holiday gifts for friends and family members! Our PTA is keeping their fingers crossed that you may be able to help them out at this busy time!

READ-A-THON:
Just a reminder to turn in your child’s Read-A-Thon logs today, Friday, November 5th. Every trimester, the PTA will award books to each child in the winning class. Keep on reading Crocs!

Ruby’s Restaurant Night- Support the PTA! Come dine at Ruby’s in Laguna Hills between November 8-14 from 7am-9pm and 20% of all food and non-alcoholic beverage sales will be donated to CVES PTA! Put away your pots and pans and join us!
