Administration
• No School on November 11th or November 12th.
• If you did not order an ANHS PTSA Student Directory for $5 at Walk-Through Registration, this is your last chance to do so! Download and print a PTSA membership form here, fill out your student’s info, and deliver it to the front office with $5 cash or check by November 10. These forms are also available for pick-up in the front office.
• Attention seniors—if you require a letter of recommendation for a college application due January 1, 2011 or later, you must turn in a Letter of Recommendation packet as soon as possible! The packet can be downloaded here. The deadline is next Monday, November 15. Remember, there’s no school this Thursday or Friday!
• Seniors applying to Cal State or UC schools should be completing their applications now. Submit as soon as possible and avoid any Internet server problems! The final deadline is November 30, NO EXCEPTIONS! Don’t wait until the last minute! (Links: UC application and Cal State application.)
• Need money for college? If you plan to attend any California college, apply for a Cal Grant. Click here for more information. The final deadline is March 2, 2011 but you should begin now—Aliso Niguel does NOT submit GPA’s electronically so you must complete and mail in the paper application. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will also be available online beginning January 1, 2011.
• School Portraits- If your student did not pick up their school portraits during the distribution dates, Simonson Photography will be distributing them to your student’s 3rd period classroom. These pictures are the school portraits that 9th, 10th and 11th graders would have taken and purchased at registration in August. Seniors must pick up their Senior Portraits at Simonson Photography Studio.
Activities
• It’s time for our annual fall Dodgeball Tournament! Sign-up packets are available now in the ASB Room and must be turned in by this Wednesday, November 10. The tournament will take place next week at lunch.
• Your 2010 USA national champion ANHS Dance Team presents “Lights, Camera, Dance: A Taste of Hollywood!” This fall concert will be in the ANHS theater on November 17, 18, and 19 at 7:00 pm and feature performances by Dance Appreciation, Drill Team, Varsity Song, and more! Tickets are on sale now for just $10 and can be purchased from a Dance Team member or at the door for the November 17 showing, and online for the November 18 and 19 showings.
Fundraisers
• Aliso Niguel Baseball is currently selling Christmas trees for our annual fundraiser! One aspect of this is to donate trees to military families at Camp Pendleton and, over the past 5 years, our program has donated over 500 trees to these families. We hope to donate another 100 this year. If you are interested in purchasing or donating a Christmas tree this year, please print and complete this sales form. All orders and payment must be received by Wednesday, November 13! Thank you for your support!
