Mission Viejo, CA – Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) provided community charity grants totaling $8,690:
– Over 4,300 dictionaries are being distributed free to all third graders in the Saddleback and Capistrano school districts.
– A donation was provided to the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project so that all children receiving therapy from this program receive a toy for Christmas.
– A donation was made to offset the cost of the formal dinner/dance of the Esperanza Special Education School being held at the Elks Lodge.
– Donations were made to Pop Warner Football Pee Wee Cheer and Challenger Team (physically challenged youths not able to participate in the regular football program).
– A donation was provided to the local chapter of the National Charity League’s Operation Valentine. Over 800 Orange County mothers and daughters will gather at Camp Pendleton to pack 2,400 boxes to ship to Marines overseas and to provide gift cards for their families left behind.
– A donation was made to Montevideo Elementary PTA supporting their Jog-A-Thon fund raiser. Proceeds are used for art programs, computer lab, music program, science lab and other educational programs.
Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Pat Martino said, “Thanks to the Elks Managers and all the Elk volunteers that work on Wednesday Night Bingo and the quarterly Marathon Bingo and to the Bingo players whose net fees and donations result in the charity funds available to this Elks Lodge for distribution to worthy causes.”
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444 celebrating forty (40) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (“BPOE”) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 142 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
