Winning Ticket Pulled Saturday; Pair Will Choose Between
Laguna Beach Home and One Million Dollars in Cash
The Ocean Institute is pleased to announce that Andy Martin and Patricia Coleman (father and daughter) of Yorba Linda have won the Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle’s Grand Prize, a Laguna Beach home or $1 million in cash, winner’s choice. The pair’s ticket was pulled at the Institute’s Grand Prize drawing on Saturday, November 6.
“Congratulations to our newest millionaires, we’re very excited for you!” remarked Bill Steel, Ocean Institute’s Raffle Chair. Andy Martin is a retiree who has purchased tickets in the home raffle each year as a way to support the Institute. Martin and his daughter will have 16 days to choose between the Laguna Beach home and the $1 million cash.
One hundred ten winners were selected on Saturday; other top prize winners included Ann Worthington of Capistrano Beach, who won a new Prius or $15,000; David Ramirez of San Juan Capistrano, who won a dream vacation or $10,000; Robert Haskell and Joshua Jones of San Clemente, who also won a vacation or $10,000; and Jordan Bannigan of Newport Beach, who won a Wyland painting or $5000.
“We’re grateful to all who have purchased tickets in the home raffle,” added Steel. “As always, the real winners are the tens of thousands of school children who benefit each year from the Institute’s programs.”
Other prizes awarded included dozens of cash prizes, South Coast Plaza certificates and Quiksilver/Roxy Gift cards, Anaheim Hilton hotel/Disneyland getaways, Apple iPads, Hobie surfboards and beach packages, and Nirve beach cruisers.
The Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle is the only home raffle in the State of California this year to give away the advertised Grand Prize. All the other raffles failed to meet their required minimum number of tickets sold as specified in their rules. Planning is underway for the 2011 raffle.
