The public is invited to participate in this year’s Holiday Toy Drive to benefit the families of the City’s two adopted military units, the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines and the USS McClusky. Volunteers from the City’s Military Support Committee will be collecting toys and gift cards for children of all ages on Saturday, December 4th from 10am to 4pm at the Laguna Niguel WalMart. Collection boxes have also been set up at City Hall and donations can be dropped off any weekday from
8am to 5pm from now through December 10th. Monetary donations are also accepted and checks should be made payable to the Laguna Niguel Military Support Foundation.

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department has been busy planning many fun events for the public to enjoy this holiday season.
December 1, 6:00pm: Crown Valley Amphitheater. Join the Mayor and City dignitaries for a Grand Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at Crown Valley Park Amphitheater. The event will feature spectacular live entertainment and Chanukah fun and food for the whole family. Grab a blanket, dress warm, bring a friend and lots of holiday spirit! December 4, 10am-1pm North Pole Adventure Sea Country Center, 24602 Aliso Creek Road, Laguna Niguel. This fun-filled adventure for the whole family features live reindeer and a visit with the big man himself – Santa Claus. Activities include: face painting, decorating yummy treats, live entertainment, games and crafts. Admission is $7 per child (2-12 years) $2 per adult. Food will be available for purchase. December 5, 4:30pm Christmas Tree Lighting Crown Valley Park Softball Field. Mingle with friends, munch on cookies from Donna B’s Bakery Boutique, sip hot chocolate and enjoy the songs of the season from the Dickens Carolers of Dana Hills High SOCSA Choir. Donna B. will have a cookie decorating table for the kids! Then, listen and watch for Christmas’ most treasured celebrity, Santa Claus, who will arrive on a fire engine! Dress in warm, festive clothing because snow has been predicted! Get into the spirit of giving by donating a new toy to the families of the 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment and the USS McClusky. Holiday Lights Decorating Contest
– Entry Deadline, December 6th at 9:00 am. Get into the Holiday Spirit by entering your home in our annual Holiday Lights Decorating Contest. A $25 Home Depot gift card and a yard sign will be awarded in the following categories:

Most Unique Theme
Best Display of Lights and Music
Best Homemade Holiday Display
Best Display of Lights

December 11, 10:00am Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade, Crown Valley Pkwy. (Between Nueva Vista & Crown Valley Park): Come celebrate the holidays at our annual Holiday Parade. This year’s parade features over 100 entries including military tributes, marching bands, local youth groups, equestrian units, exotic cars and TV/Sports Celebrities. Celebrities include Joe Mantegna, Kevin Dobson, Blake and Tyler Neitzel and Kaitlin Sandeno. Also participating are some of the biggest parade attractions in the nation including the SoCal Converge Parachute Team! So get there early and bring a chair to sit on.
