The Trojan Club of Orange County (TCOC) will host its next dinner and speaker event on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, featuring USC Senior Associate Athletic Director of Football, J.K. McKay and USC Vice President for Athletic Compliance, Dave Roberts, plus Art Bartner and the Spirit of Troy Band and Song Girls, at the Doubletree Hotel in Santa Ana (MacArthur and the 55 Freeway) at 6:15 p.m.
J.K. McKay received his bachelor’s degree from USC in 1975 in political science and attended Stetson College of Law where he earned his J.D. degree in 1982. Most recently, Mr. McKay was an attorney with Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro in Los Angeles before joining the USC Department of Athletics in August of this year. While attending USC, Mr. McKay lettered 3 years (1972-74) at wide receiver while playing for his father, head coach John McKay. The younger McKay was a member of USC’s 1972 and 1974 national championship teams and played in 3 Rose Bowls.
Dave Roberts received his B.A. degree in 1973 from the University of California, Davis and his J.D. degree from the University of Pacific. He was a partner at the law firm of Paul, Hastings. Janofsky and Walker LLP from 1977 – 1999 before starting his own law firm of Roberts, Raspe & Blanton LLP in 1999. Mr. Roberts joined the USC Department of Athletics earlier this year. While attending UC Davis, Mr. Roberts was a three-year letterman on the school’s NCAA football team and was named a team Captain in 1972. Mr. Roberts was also named to the 1972 Kodak Small College All-America Team.
