THE WEEKLY WOLVERINE
December 13 – 17, 2010
Administration
• There will be no school the weeks of December 20 and 27 due to Winter Recess. School will resume the following Monday, January 3 with a normal 0-6 schedule and dismissal at 2:42 pm.
• Please help our school district qualify for future technology funding by filling out a brief survey. The survey can be found here and students, parents, and educators are all welcome to participate; our district’s secret word is “cusd”. Hurry, the survey expires this Friday, December 17!
• Need money for college? If you plan to attend any California college (2-year, 4-year, trade/technical, vocational), apply for a Cal Grant! Click here for more information. The final deadline is March 2, 2011 but you should begin now—Aliso Niguel does NOT submit GPA’s electronically so you must complete and mail in the paper application. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will also be available online beginning January 1, 2011.
Activities
• You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry, you’d better not pout, we’re telling you why… Santa Claus is coming to town! Senior Santa Day will take place this Wednesday, December 15 in the Pit at lunch! Celebrate being a senior this holiday season and come get your picture taken with Santa and his elves! DON’T FORGET YOUR STUDENT ID CARD!!! Photos will be posted on the ANHS Bulletins Facebook page later in the week.
• The Winter Wonderland Rally will take place this Friday, December 17 during 3rd period. As always, there will be no Tutorial so plan accordingly!
• Game of the Week! Boys’ Soccer vs. Northwood on Wednesday, December 15 at 5:00 pm.
Fundraisers
• Hire the award-winning ANHS Madrigals to carol at your holiday event! For just $75, you can add a special touch to your holiday gathering this year. A group of 10-12 carolers from the ANHS Madrigals choir will come to your party, work event, or holiday dinner and entertain you with an 18-20 minute caroling show. The remaining scheduled evenings for caroling are December 16, 17, and 18. Other times may also be available. E-mail Choral Music Director Mr. Harney at jrharney@capousd.org for more information!
• Want to benefit our school with a tax-deductible* donation? The ANHS PTSA’s annual “Don’t Come to Tea” fundraiser is coming soon! This is our annual fundraising program where we ask Aliso Niguel families to make a quick, easy donation—in lieu of selling candy or magazines—to support the various programs and improvements our PTSA provides. If you’d like to make your tax-deductible* donation in time for 2010, visit www.ANHSPTSA.org now and check out our new PayPal option! *Please check with your tax advisor.
