PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
If you have attended our Business Roundtable networking events then you have probably heard me talk about the importance of building relationships and developing the Know, Like & Trust factor. Here are 3 tips to help you get the most from your next networking event and be more successful in building the right relationships that generate the right results.
1. Networking is not selling or a swap meet. People like to do business with people they know, like and trust and when you meet someone at a networking event it’s an opportunity to make a connection, get to know them and determine if it makes sense to carry the business relationship further over coffee or lunch.
2. Don’t spill your product or service on them. Focus the conversation on the other persons needs not yours. You can only do business with someone when your product or service fills a need. If you’re doing most of the talking then you’re not discovering what their needs are and how your product or service can help them.
3. Give it time. Don’t expect to do business with someone you just met or expect them to refer you to their top clients or people in their network. Building quality relationships that generate repeat referral business require time. Consider it to be an investment in building your prospect and referral network that will pay off and benefit you tremendously.

RECOGNIZED MEMBER OF THE MONTH
PAUL STEINBERG
In 1999 Paul opened the Outback Steakhouse in Foothill Ranch, as the Managing Partner and Proprietor. Paul became very involved in the community…. he just didn’t know how to say no! He supported charity events for Kiwanis, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, local schools, sports teams and the American Cancer Society; just to mention a few. In October of 2007, Paul and his Outback crew provided more than 2000 meals for the firefighters during the Santiago Fires.
Paul is actively involved in the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce. In the past ten years, Paul has been twice awarded: “Business of the Year” for the City of Lake Forest.
