FUN, FAST-PACED “BEETHOVEN’S BLOCKBUSTERS” FEATURES COMPOSER’S MOST EXCITING AND FAMOUS MUSIC FOR PACIFIC SYMPHONY’S NEXT FAMILY MUSICAL MORNINGS CONCERT!
A season abundant in the ground-breaking brilliance of Ludwig van Beethoven continues when Pacific Symphony’s Family Musical Mornings series, sponsored by Farmers and Merchants Bank, presents “Beethoven’s Blockbusters”—introducing children to what makes the icon’s music so thrilling! Assistant Conductor Maxim Eshkenazy and teen actress Natalie Powers guide the audience through Beethoven’s most famous symphonies (Nos. 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9) in a fast-paced and engaging 45-minute concert designed especially for children 5-11 years.
Despite his gradual loss of hearing, Beethoven transformed classical music while he was alive and still influences musicians and composers today. Written and directed by Bree Burgess Rosen, artistic director of Laguna Beach’s No Square Theatre, the concert includes organist Kristen Lawrence performing the choral melody of Symphony No. 9.
The concert takes place Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall with a Musical Carnival before and after the show (more details below); tickets are $19-36.
