Radio station KSBR 88.5FM and the City of Mission Viejo are proud to announce “Breakfast with Gary and Kelly” continues on March 19th when they bring their Saturday morning radio broadcast to the Norman P. Murray Community Center. Gary and Kelly (Gary Bergeson and Kelly Bennett) can be heard on KSBR 88.5fm Saturday mornings from 9am to 12noon; their show will put a giggle in your morning cup of jazz.
The radio broadcast will begin at 9:00am from the Sycamore Room at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way in Mission Viejo. A studio audience will be welcomed in for the 10:00 am to 12pm portion (doors will open at 9:45 am) with the final hour being videotaped for later broadcast on the city’s MVTV Channel 30.
Gary & Kelly will be joined by acclaimed guitarist, and KSBR Birthday Bash favorite Peter White. Peter has enjoyed a remarkable career, 20 years of which were spent with Al Stewart, sharing the stage with musical luminaries such as Linda Ronstadt, Billy Joel, Queen and many more. Peter embarked on his solo career in 1990 with the release of “Reveillez-Vous” and his 11 subsequent recordings have been a mainstay of jazz radio. He has accumulated multiple honors and awards and this year is nominated for Guitarist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Bright” and Artist of the Decade at the upcoming Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards. He’s also lent his very distinctive talents to all of Basia’s recordings and has appeared onstage and on recordings with Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Jeff Golub, Lee Ritenour, Boney James and more.
Gary and Kelly have conducted numerous remote broadcasts from locations all over Southern California, including the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach and Catalina Island and have hosted many celebrity guests. Their following has grown since the show’s inception in 2006. Bergeson has been in radio broadcasting since 1994 and he’s a National Account Manager for R & R Industries, Inc. Bennett, also a veteran of radio since 1998, works her day job for Time Warner Cable as a Public Affairs Specialist and is also the Society Editor for five local papers published by Mission Viejo News Groups.
