First Saturday Men’s Fellowship Meeting

The first Saturday in May, May 7, may be the best time for you to join the First Saturday Men’s Fellowship for their monthly breakfast meeting starting at 7:30 a.m. (or 6 a.m. for early risers who may get out of bed on time).

There may be men in the parish that you have not met with whom you good form a bond of fellowship and friendship. There may be questions you have about your own spirituality that other men from the parish may be able to clarify and answer for you. You may just want a cup of coffee and a good hot breakfast. May we see you there? You may have questions, and if you do, please contact Brian Brassil at misterb50@gmail.com or 949/212-5994.

A letter of thanks from Japan:
Dear Father Fred K. BAILEY, And Parish community of Corpus Christi:
Thank you very much for your letter full of sympathy and compassion together with your generous donation of $6,118 for the emergency relief. It is three and a half weeks now since the day of the terrible disaster: more than twelve thousand people have lost their lives by the tsunami, and still more than fifteen thousand people are missing, and the number of evacuees is more than two hundred thousand.

The areas hit by the earthquake and tsunami are still in chaotic situation, but thanks to the prayers and support from you and many people of goodwill all over the world, we will certainly overcome this calamity. And I would like to ask you to continue to pray for us. Thank you very much, again, Father Fred K. Bailey and members of parish community of Corpus Christi. May plenty of God’s blessings be poured on you.
United in our Lord, Martin Tetsuo Hiraga, bishop of Sendai

Mother’s Day is only two weekend’s away, May 7-8. Special Mother’s Day cards, by which to enroll your moms, living or deceased, in a special series of Masses, are now available on the Concierge Shelves. Thanks.

Our SPRING Sacramental Prep Session approaches…
A reminder, our parish policy is that any family seeking the Sacrament of Baptism, First Reconciliation or First Eucharist, Marriage, needs to have been a REGISTERED PARISHIONER for a minimum of THREE MONTHS prior to the setting of any Sacramental dates. (Thus, someone registering today, may call in three months to begin the process of scheduling a date….not register and schedule at the same time.)

Our next Sacramental Preparation Session for families of children desiring First Reconciliation and First Eucharist here at Corpus Christi is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th at 2:30 p.m., concluding with the 5:00 p.m. Mass. Please note that participation at one of our quarterly Sacramental Prep Sessions prior to scheduling a First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is a parish requirement. You will receive your Sacramental Registration Form at the conclusion of the session.

This policy is binding for ALL families, both those who have multiple children (who may have already received one or more First Eucharists, fresh attendance at the Sacramental Prep for each child is necessary) and for those approaching the Sacraments for the first time. To ensure adequate supplies, please call Ali Gaby at (949) 389-9209.

It is important to note that these Sacramental Preparation Sessions augment but DO NOT replace our parish policy of parents teaching their own children the essentials of our faith and introducing their own children to the person of Jesus Christ. These Prep Sessions are final steps to ensure that parental education has indeed been happening.

Networking and Employment Transition Support Ministry

Even though it sometimes seems like it is a lonely one lane highway, your Job Search is really a two way street. While you are out there persistently looking for a job, employers are tirelessly looking for you. The challenge is how to be at the right place, at the right time, with right qualities. If only there was an inside track. Wouldn’t it be great if you could see it from the hiring manager’s perspective, so you could meet them where they are and put your best foot forward? Well, you are in luck! At the May NETS meeting you will have an opportunity to attend a round table discussion with CEO’s and Managers who will be addressing the current job market and specifically what companies are seeking. If you want the inside scoop, come join us on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Please RSVP by contacting Ed Jordan at ejordan@noletspirits.com or 949-389-1715.
