Iglesia Park Community Center Ribbon Cutting and Health, Fitness and Safety Fair Saturday, April 30
To mark the grand re-opening of the Iglesia Park Community Center, the city will host a ribbon cutting and Health, Fitness and Safety Fair on Saturday, April 30 at 24671 Via Iglesia.
The city recently finished construction on a much-needed improvement project at the Iglesia Park Community Center, which houses the Family Resource Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley-Aliso Viejo Branch. The building improvements were funded by a Community Development Block Grant.
The public is invited to celebrate the center’s re-opening from noon to 3 p.m. in a special event that will include a ribbon cutting with Mayor Carmen Cave at noon; bike rodeo for kids; interactive activities focused on sporting events, clinics and nutritional tips; a healthy cooking demonstration; water safety information; fitness activities; and much more.
The event is sponsored by the city, Aliso Viejo Boys & Girls Club and Aliso Viejo Police Services.

Sponsors sought for Aliso Viejo Community Cup Golf Tournament that benefits local youth
Sponsors are sought for the 8th Annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup – a fun-filled event that celebrates the City’s 10th anniversary and benefits local youth.
The Aliso Viejo Community Cup takes place on Friday, June 3 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, 33 Santa Barbara. The event kicks off at 11 a.m., with registration and activities starting at 9 a.m. The fun and competitive golf tournament includes a continental breakfast, box lunch, banquet dinner, contests, activities, awards and more.
This year’s event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley-Aliso Viejo Branch’s Keystone Leadership program and the Aliso Viejo Community Foundation Scholarship Program. The Teen Keystone Leadership program helps youth acquire leadership, educational, social, recreation and career-development abilities and skills that are crucial to channeling the high energy of teens in a positive direction. In recognition of the escalating financial hurdles of higher education, this year’s tournament will also support the launching of the Aliso Viejo Community Foundation’s 2011 Scholarship Fund. Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors living in Aliso Viejo.
Along with participating in the event and enjoying a relaxing and fun round of golf on the beautiful Jack Nicklaus-designed course, there are several sponsorship opportunities for such a wonderful and important cause.
The Aliso Viejo Country Club is located next to the Aliso Viejo Conference Center and Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center, which opens for another fabulous season Saturday, April 30. The facilities are conveniently located off Glenwood at Golf Drive between Moulton Parkway and Aliso Creek Road.
