On Saturday, May 21, 2011, the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach participated in Unity Day for the 7th year at the Garden Grove Main Branch. A total of seven Boys & Girls Clubs in Orange County participated, bringing over 75 children together.
The day was dedicated to unifying Boys & Girls Club members from all over the county by partaking in various games and sports together.
Many members showed a great deal of teamwork during the 5-on-5 basketball and soccer tournaments, while others bonded over games such as foosball, air hockey and ping pong.
The Boys & Girls Club Main Branch of Garden Grove kindly provided lunch while the group listened to the sweet sounds of a singing competition. At the closing ceremony, each member received a prize and a medal of participation for their positive and friendly attitude.
Unity Day was one of the many events that the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach is involved in, helping kids build character, teamwork, academic success, healthy lifestyles and creativity.
The Annual Club Membership fee is only $150 and the monthly fee is $55. The club serves kindergarten through twelfth grade from the Laguna Beach Unified School District and Capistrano Unified School District.
