Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) proudly announces that Tyler Rolstad, a member of its sponsored Boy Scout Troop #603, has completed his Eagle Scout Project, one of the major requirements needed to earn the Eagle Scout Award. Only approximately 2% to 3% of Boy Scouts earn the designation of Eagle Scout.
For his Eagle Scout Project, Tyler Rolstad raised over $700.00 to purchase materials and supplies. He supervised thirty-one (31) volunteers from Boy Scout Troops 603 & 661 to repair and restore the Elks Lodge’s north and east facing wrought iron fences. Tyler and his group of volunteers completed the project in the budgeted time of one day, accounting for one hundred sixty-six (166) combined man hours of work. He was grateful to “Chick-fil-A” for donating forty (40) sandwiches for the hungry workers lunch. The project and its completion were observed by Dennis Lumley, Elks Lodge Scouting Chairperson, and other Elks Lodge members. The project was a well coordinated effort.
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444, celebrating forty-one (41) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities, is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 143 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
