The total raised came from a variety of sources, with the various Parent Teacher Association units contributing $2,381,650. The District’s reported donations totaled $3,088,179.29. The most popular items supported by donations include outdoor science camp, primary music programs, computer purchases, art programs, classroom supplies, and field trips. Students Need Tdap Shot Before Registration
Students entering 7th through 12th grades need an additional vaccination before they can start school. State law <http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_0351-0400/ab_354_bill_20100929_chaptered.html> now requires all students entering the 7th through 12th grades in the 2011-2012 school year to have proof of a Tdap booster shot <http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/combo-vaccines/dtap-td-dt/tdap.htm> given on or after their 7th birthday. The law includes current, new, and transfer students in public and private schools. Next year, and beyond, all students entering the 7th grade will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school. The Tdap booster vaccination helps prevent tetanus <http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/tetanus/default.htm#disease> , diphtheria <http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/diphtheria/in-short-both.htm> , and pertussis <http://www.cdc.gov/pertussis/about/index.html> , also known as whooping cough. The vaccination can be obtained from a family physician, at local pharmacies, or through the Orange County Health Care Agency <http://ochealthinfo.com/mcah/immuniz.htm> . Health agencies are also encouraging adults to get a pertussis booster shot.-more- <http://capousd.ca.schoolloop.com/news/view?d=x&id=1296917370824&group_id=1218998864154&return_url=1297985259472>
