Radio on TV Comes to the Norman P. Murray Center
Saddleback College radio station KSBR 88.5FM and the City of Mission Viejo are proud to announce the next “Breakfast with Gary and Kelly” radio for TV broadcast will take place on October 1, 2011 with their special guests, the Golden Globe winning actress Linda Evans and renowned composer and bass player Max Bennett. The Saturday morning radio show will broadcast LIVE starting at 9:00am from the beautiful Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way in Mission Viejo.
A studio audience will be welcomed in for the 10:00 am to 12pm show; doors will open at 9:00am with the final hour being videotaped for later broadcast on the city’s MVTV Channel 30. The audience will be admitted for free but seating is limited. Reservations can be made online at www.ksbr.org
The program will be part of the city’s 3rd annual Mission Viejo Readers’ Festival, which has become the largest and most prestigious reader’s festival in Orange County, attracting as many as 5,000 book-lovers each year.
Golden Globe award-winning actress Linda Evans, who starred in TV shows “Dynasty” and “Big Valley,” will make a special trip to Mission Viejo from her home in Ranier, Washington to enchant people of all ages. Evan’s new memoir “Recipes For Life” will be released early just for the Reader’s Festival. Her memoir offers a behind-the-scenes tale of her painful divorce from John Derek, who left her for actress Bo Derek. Linda also shares several favorite recipes of the stars, including John Wayne’s green chile and cheese casserole.
Internationally known bassist and composer Max Bennett has toured and performed in concert with Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Barbra Streisand, Peggy Lee, Aretha Franklin, a couple of Franks (Sinatra and Zappa) and his studio work includes performing on 17 Grammy Award -winning albums.
Past guests on “Breakfast with Gary & Kelly” have included Debbie Reynolds, Peter White, Diane Schuur, Bobby Caldwell, Paul Brown, Warren Hill and Bill Cantos. Gary and Kelly have conducted numerous remote broadcasts from locations all over Southern California, including the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach and Catalina Island and they have hosted many celebrity guests.
KSBR is a community service of Saddleback College. The program continues the partnership between Saddleback College and the City of Mission Viejo.
