
Tahereh Mafi
On November 15, 2011, HarperCollins will publish SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi, a twenty-three year old (Class of 2009) graduate of Soka University who lives in Orange County, CA. Her first novel (part of a contracted trilogy) is the story of Juliette, a girl who has the ability to kill people with a single touch and a crumbling government that wants to use her as a weapon. Foreign rights to her novel have already been sold in 18 countries and film rights have been acquired by Twentieth Century Fox.
Soka University will be hosting a Book Launch and Signing Party for Tahereh on November 16th from 7:30 – 9:30 pm in Ikeda Library 4th Fl Reading Room, 1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo. Admission is free and copies of her book will be available for purchase. Tahereh will be available for interviews.
