Dana Point, CALIF., – The Ocean Institute will present Betty White: Champion for Animals, a film produced by San Juan Capistrano residents Robert Kline and Stephanie Heredia, on Saturday, March 24, 4 p.m. The evening is a “sneak-peak” Membership Movie Night, but is open to both Ocean Institute members and non-members.
“We are pleased to partner with Mr. Kline on a documentary that shows the bond between animals and the human experience,” said Chief of Operations Bentley Cavazzi. “This is another educational opportunity that we bring to our community that further enhances our efforts in family programs.”
The 89-minute documentary focuses on the award-winning actress and comedienne’s lifelong passion for all animals, including pets, service animals or animals in aquariums, zoos and national parks. Kline says the movie is heartwarming and inspirational; the DVD will be released later in the month.
In the film, Betty White:
- recounts her experiences with her own pets,
- tells about time spent with charities and organizations advocating the protection and proper treatment of animals, and
- shows her encounters with animals from around the world.
Kline has more than 500 projects and 25 films to his credit, including On the Wings of Penguins, Ronald Reagan: An American Journey and The Kennedys: America’s Emerald Kings. He is also a former senior vice president at 20th Century Fox and is a co-founder of Lifetime Televison. Kline and his wife, Stephanie Heredia, are currently working on The Clintons: an American Odyssey, for summer release.
