Thousands Turn Out For LEGO Star Wars Day – LEGOLAND® California

New LEGO STAR WARS™ Models Make LEGO STAR WARS™ Days Bigger and Better at
LEGOLAND^® California

Two-Day Event Includes New 8 Foot LEGO^® Yoda Build, Mystery Mosaic, Mini Movie and More!

CARLSBAD, Calif.– The force grew even stronger at LEGOLAND^® California as thousands turned out for the first day of LEGO^® Star Wars™ Days. The opening of the annual two-day galactic event held March 31 and April 1, attracted fans of all ages dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters. Guests spent the day participating in activities like the Droid Hunt, Star Wars Costume Contest, Jedi Trivia, Star Wars T-shirt Contest and interacting with members of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers and Rebel Legion.  Visitors also took part in new activities such as an eight-foot LEGO^® Yoda build, mystery mosaic build and enjoying a special viewing of the Padawan Menace mini movie in the LEGO Showplace Theater.

LEGOLAND California’s newest addition, LEGO^® Star Wars™ Gallery and expansion of LEGO^® Star Wars™ Miniland, was a huge hit with guests.  Fans were further immersed into the Star Wars experience as they walked through the gallery encountering three-feet-tall LEGO minifigures of 12 famous Star Wars characters including Princess Leia, Wicket and Darth Maul; and new models and scenes, at 1:20 scale, in each of the planets featured in LEGO Star Wars Miniland. Also among the never-before-seen LEGO models, guests interacted with the life-size model of Darth Maul created out of 25,00 LEGO bricks.

Other features and attractions guests enjoyed include the LEGO Star Wars Fan Gallery, highlighting LEGO Star Wars creations built by local fans and LEGO Club members; Jedi Trivia, which allowed guests to use their Star Wars knowledge to compete for fabulous prizes; Costume and Star Wars T-shirt contests, with prizes awarded each day; an eight-foot LEGO Yoda build and mystery mosaic build, which let guests work side-by-side with Master Model Builders to construct the famous Jedi and create one-of-a LEGO mosaic; and  enjoy a special viewing on the big screen of the popular Padawan Menace mini movie.

For the first time, the LEGO^® Star Wars experience is continuing through April 15 with additional Star Wars™ activities for guests to enjoy.  Visitors are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters or wear their favorite Star Wars T-shirts and participate in the daily activities.
