Laguna Beach, CA – Join the Festival of Arts for another round of informative and interesting discussions at Art Talks: A Lecture Series. Set in beautiful Laguna Beach on the Festival green, these informal talks will provide insights from some of Orange County’s most talented artists and art professionals.

On Tuesday July 17th from 12pm-1pm, Festival of Arts exhibitor Tom Lamb will lead a discussion focusing on the impact of photography and digital media in the world of fine art. Festival Artists will join him in sharing insights on the ever-changing aspects of photography and how advancements in technology have affected the process of capturing images.

On Thursday July 19th from 12pm-1pm, Maggi Owens, University Curator, and David Michael Lee, Collection Manager, will be at the Festival of Arts to discuss the planning and implementation of the Phyllis & Ross Escalette Permanent Collection of Art at Chapman University. Comprised of over 700 pieces in a variety of mediums, the collection is spread throughout the campus in courtyards, lobbies, offices, and meeting places- enriching the landscape for students, staff, and visitors.
Art Talks: A Lecture Series continues throughout the Festival of Arts 2012 season. On Tuesdays, experienced artists will take attendees through topics of medium, influences, and current trends; on Thursdays, Orange County’s top curators, collectors, and conservators will lead discussions on issues of buying, appraising, displaying, restoring and conserving fine art. Brown bag lunches from Gina’s will be available for purchase or you can bring your own! Art Talks: A Lecture Series is free with Festival admission.

The Festival of Arts is open daily from July 1 – August 31, 2012, from 10am to 11:30pm (August 25, 10am to 3:30pm). General Admission: Weekdays $7, Weekends $10; Students & Seniors: Weekdays $4, Weekends $6; Free Admission for Children 12 and under, Military, and Laguna Beach Residents.
