
While the Ocean Institute in Dana Point is closed to the general public on weekdays as it offers a wide array of marine science and maritime history programs to school children, it opens its doors to the general public on weekends, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Enjoy ocean-themed exhibits, hundreds of marine animals, activities for children and on most Sundays tour the tall ship Pilgrim. Cost: $6.50 adults, $4.50 children (ages 4-12). For an extra charge, take a marine mammal or tall ship cruise.
Consider becoming a member of the Ocean Institute and receive free admission every weekend and discount prices on special Institute activities. Memberships start as low as $30 per year.
