SWAY BALLROOM DANCE LAGUNA HILLS
HOSTED GRAND OPENING
LAGUNA HILLS, CALIF. – Sway Ballroom Dance hosted a successful Grand Opening Event on Friday, October 19, with over 160 attendees and benefitting Parkinson’s in Balance.

Matt Brown leading a group beginning Salsa lesson
The celebration and festivities began at 7:30 p.m. with hors d’ oeuvres and beverages hosted by Villa Roma Restaurant. Student demonstrations and professional dance performances entertained guests, including one by newlywed owners Matt & Lisa Brown. A group Beginning Salsa class and dance party kept attendees interactive with first-hand experience of what Sway offers. All enjoyed a celebratory cake, created by Heidelberg Bakery. Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Orange County and State representatives attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier in the day.
Through raffle ticket sales at the event, for gifts donated by local supportive businesses, Sway raised $620 to benefit Parkinson’s in Balance, a local non-profit organization providing various levels of support to people diagnosed with Parkinson’s, at no cost to the community. The Brown’s are very excited to be active in the community through social and charitable events. Sway sponsored the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on September 24, and most recently participated in the La Dolce Vida Italian Festival, organized by the Saddleback Valley Lodge-Sons of Italy and the Laguna Niguel Lions Club.

Sway owners, Matt & Lisa Brown, thanking guests for attending the Grand Opening Celebration
Featuring a 2500 square-foot ballroom, a 1000 square-foot junior ballroom, and a state-of-the-art sound system, Sway offers private or group ballroom, smooth, and Latin dance instruction to single adults, couples and children at social or competitive levels. There are classes for all ages and levels and the first private lesson for new students is always FREE! Matt Brown says his goal was, “To create a studio that is welcoming, friendly and fun, providing instruction with positive energy, in a warm, fresh and modern atmosphere.”
Brown and his wife bring several years of ballroom experience to Sway. Matt, former Cheryl Burke Dance Laguna Niguel general manager, and Lisa, former instructor, both compete in ballroom at local and national levels. Lisa was most recently a 2011 US Dance Sport Championships “Smooth” Division finalist. Their next competition is the Sway Team Match on November 10 at 10 a.m. at Century Dancesport in Tustin. The two studios will compete against each other with student-instructor pairings. This event is free and welcomes the public!
