ELKS LODGE BRINGS GIFTS AND FRIENDSHIP TO VETS
Nine volunteers of Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) and three volunteers of Santa Ana Elks Lodge visited veterans at the Long Beach VA Hospital.

In the hospital recreation room, the Elks volunteers served lemonade and cookies to the veterans that were playing the Elks administered bingo games. After bingo, the Elks volunteers went to the Spinal Injury and Convalescent wards to personally hand out lap robes and other items to those Veteran’s, to talk with them and just to let them know that the Elk’s Care! The total estimated value of the 100 lap robes, refreshments, clothing, bingo winnings and other gift items brought to the veterans was about $1,000.

The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444, celebrating forty-two (42) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities, is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 144 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
