ELKS LODGE DONATES $14,000 FOR PURCHASE OF K-9 DOG

During a recent Wednesday Big Bucks Bingo night in front of the bingo players, Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) gave $14,000 to the Orange County Sheriff’s for the purchase of a fully-trained K-9 dog. This is the fifth fully-trained K-9 dog purchased with funds from the Elks Lodge Bingo operation. The funds for this purchase came from a recent Elks Lodge Marathon Bingo event supplemented with funds from the regular Wednesday night bingo.
Exalted Ruler Harvey Boelts and Past Exalted Ruler Newt Seal presented the check to Orange County K-9 handler, R. Buhr and Supervisor, Sergeant R. Johnson. Newt Seal previously ran the Elks Lodge Bingo operation and was instrumental in the previous four K-9 donations.
Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Harvey Boelts said, “The bingo players are very pleased and excited when we present donations to our various charities in their presence, acknowledging their role in making those contributions possible. The Elks Lodge volunteers and bingo players are proud of the over thirty year history of K-9 dog purchases for the Orange County Sheriff’s department.”
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444, celebrating forty-three (43) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities, is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois.
