8th Grade Class Photo THIS THURSDAY during Panther Plus!!
Tomorrow Thursday, Feb. 28th during PANTHER PLUS we will be taking an 8th class photo. (This is for a page in the yearbook and NOT the panorama picture they purchase later on in the year.) Students are to go to Panther Plus first and then walk with their class to take the photo.
For students who do NOT have a Panther Plus and want to be in the photo, please make sure you are at school Thursday 2/28 during Panther Plus time. (3:01-3:25) You will wait/meet in the Library and wait for the announcement during Panther Plus to be dismissed for the photo.

Incoming 6th Graders-
We will be having a parent night for incoming 6th graders in Newhart’s multipurpose room on March 6th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Come meet Mr. Jones and learn about everything Newhart has to offer.
Elementary Schools Visit Newhart March 7th. Bathgate, Castille, Reilly, and Viejo Elementary Schools will be coming to Newhart during the day to tour the campus.
Star Writing-
Newhart will be taking the 7th grade STAR Writing Test, 8th grade Reading Test and 6th grade Writing Prompt on Tuesday March 5th . Any students absent on the March 5th will be pulled to do make-up tests on the March 6th. Please note that the bell schedule has been changed for the day to accommodate the time needed to take the tests.

Parent Portal-
We are encouraging all parents who have not yet done so to register for a Parent Portal account as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the options available through this system. In the 2013-2014 school year, the Capistrano Unified School District will institute a paperless report card system. Book Club Meeting-
Book: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Synopsis: Jacob thought his grandfather’s stories and pictures were fake until his grandfather died under suspicious circumstances. Then, Jacob traveled across the sea and across time to find out the truth about the magical children.
Meeting: Tuesday, May 7th, from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Newhart Library

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION-
Bring in your Box Tops for Education that are found on most General Mills products and receive a Front of Lunch Line Pass for every 10 you turn into your math teacher! Proceeds go to the math department for supplies and equipment. Thank you!
Recycling Reminder-
