Eight players are helping the center prepare for the upcoming season that begins with swim lessons and programs on April 1. Recreational swimming and public access follows in May.

The players are setting up chairs and cabanas and scrubbing down the pool decks at the city facility that overlooks the golf course at 29 Santa Barbara.

This is not the first time the Aliso Niguel High School football team has lent a hand. Led by Coach Kurt Westling, the team regularly gives back to this community. Players volunteer at the city’s annual “Shred Day” and Snow Fest celebration. Two years ago, they cooked and served up hot dogs for the city’s 10th Anniversary Family Swim Day. Their assistance is invaluable.

Along with giving back to the community, players can earn community service credits for their efforts.

“We really appreciate Coach Westling and his outstanding players and the assistance that they offer our city at a moment’s notice,” said Community Services Director Karen Crocker. “They are part of our volunteer team and their help and service is priceless.”
