We have learned that the cost of the K-3 Music Program is increasing from $21,000 to $32,000 for the 2013-2014 school year. We value this special program and we are hoping to continue these weekly music lessons for our children for next year. The music program is paid for through the Bergeson Foundation (BESF). Please know that your BESF Board is doing everything in our power to raise the money to Save the Music program. We are contacting businesses and soliciting their support, we are still accepting BESF Membership donations, we have dine-outs coming up. (Daphne’s in April) And, of course we are getting ready for our Annual Silent Auction; the Bergie Bulldog Bash Silent Auction which will be held on Thursday, May 23, during our Bergeson Open House. You’ve heard about the Save the Music campaign through VH1 Channel? Well, we have our own Save the Music right here at Bergeson School!
Our Silent Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This year, our Silent Auction will determine the fate of our beloved music program. The chairpersons are Sandy Marshall and Nicole Queen who are busy making this the best Silent Auction ever! This year we will celebrate Bergeson’s 25th Anniversary in a week long Bergie Bulldog Bash Silent Auction on campus! Overwhelmingly, our families asked that our Auction be held on campus so it could be a family event. Wait until you see what we are planning! The entire week of Open House, Monday, May 20 to Thursday May 23rd you will get to view and BID on all of our amazing items. The bidding will begin on Monday and will conclude the evening of Open House, Thursday, May 23rd. The whole week will be fantastic including the Silent Auction, the PTA Book Fair and Grandparents Day as the FINALE on Friday, May 24.
On Thursday, May 23, when you arrive for Open House at 5 PM, you will arrive to the Bergie Bulldog Bash with “The Taco Man” along with two Gourmet Food Trucks and a few other vendors. Have dinner with your families at the transformed and updated “Outdoor Dining Facility” at Bergeson. The Bergie Bulldog Bash will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Plea To Our Bergeson Families: If you have something that you might be able to donate to the silent auction, we would be so grateful if you would consider donating something to Save the Music program! A vacation home? Acupuncture services? Lasik Services? Professional Photography? Hotel Gift Certificates? Gift Certificates? Sports Tickets? An item from your business? Would you or your company consider becoming an event sponsor? Any time you go out to dinner or to a store, please consider asking them for a Silent Auction item, a Gift Certificate or a Donation. The donation letter is attached to this email.
We already have some great items to bid on, and thankfully the list is growing every day…

In addition to the Silent Auction, we are getting ready for the Annual Teacher Raffle. Tickets will be on sale for the Teacher Raffle May 6-10. This Raffle will be sent home in your child’s backpack.
