INTERNET SAFETY NIGHT – NOVEMBER 20, 7:00 P.M.
SAVE THE DATE!! On Wednesday, November 20, at 7:00 P.M., NHMS and the PTSA will be co-sponsoring a parent night on Internet Safety. It will be presented by the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force, and will be held in the Blue Commons. There will be a presentation for parents in the Blue Commons and a presentation for students in another room.
The Child Exploitation Task Force is a multi-agency group, comprised of Homeland Security Investigators, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, US Postal Inspection Service and several local police departments throughout Orange County. They are also affiliated with the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Their mission is to investigate Internet-related crimes against children by responding to reports of child exploitation and aggressively pursuing those who seek to prey on our children. They also seek to teach children as to the dangers associated with using the Internet as well as educate parents about the benefits of actively monitoring their child’s online activity.
