Parents Invited to Districtwide Forum
Parents and community members are invited to participate in a “Conversation with the Superintendent” on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Capistrano Valley High School (CVHS). Capistrano Valley High School is located at 26301 Via Escolar, Mission Viejo. Superintendent Joe Farley will engage in a conversation with community members moderated by Jane Shafron, the CVHS Foundation President. Parents and community members from the entire District are invited to join the conversation as Farley answers questions about the District’s new funding mechanism, its transition to the Common Core State Standards, and other items of interest to stakeholders.

SAT/ACT Prep Class Now Offered at Tesoro High School!
These SAT/ACT courses teach students content, strategies, and test-taking techniques for their chosen college admissions exam. All sections of the tests are covered including the handwritten essay portions. In addition, every student will have access to archived lessons, more drills and college admissions information.

ROP NEWS:
Students may begin to enroll in ROP classes for the spring semester beginning November 18. To be in a ROP class
students must complete an enrollment form, come to the Career Center and see Mrs. Marquez.

New ROP class coming to Tesoro HS spring semester! Kinesiology will be offered in the spring
at Tesoro HS and will be offered 2nd period in room P4. The ROP instructor, Mr. Sean Higgs will be in the Career Center
on Monday, November 18 during lunch for questions and to pass out flyers about the class.
Work Permit Information:
Reminder…work permits are issued during open school days and are not issued during holidays or weekends.
Please be sure to plan accordingly and get the work permit in before the holiday. You may down load
work permits from the Tesoro website, click on College and Career and be sure to read the instructions
before you submit the work permit application. For questions see Mrs. Marquez in the Career Center.
