Students will work with film professionals
to explore their interest and talent as well as
develop educational, professional and life skills.
August 11 – 15, 2014
The words “and …. ACTION!” will echo across the Center’s campus as it becomes a film studio and back lot for a new generation of filmmakers participating in the Center’s first Segerstrom Center Film Camp this summer, August 11 – 15.
Students will be guided by industry professionals and immerse themselves in the processes of creative writing, directing, acting, cinematography, sound recording, art and set design, costuming, make-up and editing. Segerstrom Center President Terrence W. Dwyer said, “The Center’s Film Camp is an exciting expansion of our education programs.
In addition to exploring their interest in the art and craft of filmmaking, they will hone many other important skills.
These include creative thinking, goal setting, team work and time management.” Dwyer added, “Every Center education program, including our Film Camp, is designed to provide an array of engaging and entertaining arts opportunities as well as life-enriching lessons and skill sets that can be applied to wide variety of other subjects and life experiences.”
