City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon 5K,10K & Kids Run May 26

The 16th annual City of Laguna Hills Memorial Half Marathon is scheduled for Memorial Day Monday, May 26.

Formerly the Saddleback Memorial Half Marathon, this event – which winds its way through the cities of Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel – has traditionally been well represented by Laguna Woods Village runners and walkers of all skill levels and ages. Laguna Woods Village has been a participating community since the race was founded.

The race will honor the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion. The City of Laguna Hills adopted the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, of the 1st Marine Division. This infantry battalion, nicknamed “Dark Horse” is based out of Camp Pendleton. The City of Laguna Hills intends to donate $3 per race participant to the 3/5 Support Committee.

This is the second year a 10K race has been available for runners. The race start time and Laguna Woods Village course will remain the same.

Registration will also be available at the Road Runners Sports on Sunday before the event between 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Race day registration opens at 5:30 a.m. at the mall for the half marathon 5K and the 10K. Race day registration for the kids run starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Laguna Hills Community Center and parking is available at the Laguna Hills High School at Hawk High Way and Paseo de Valencia.
